Saraswati Pooja is the day to adulate the Goddess of Knowledge- Maa Saraswati! If you are someone who wants to conduct the pooja at home but don’t know the pooja vidhi, here is our little guide to help you out.
This pooja process helps you worship Goddess Saraswati at home.
Worship and seek the blessings of Goddess Saraswati- the deity of wisdom and knowledge on Vasant Panchami by following steps. This pooja vidhi for new murti or idol of Goddess Saraswati. Make sure to wear yellow coloured cloth before starting the pooja.
Begin the procedure with Maa saraswati meditation. Chant the mantra-
Ya Kundendu-Tushara-Hara-Dhavala, Ya Shubhra-Vastravrita,
Ya Vina-Vara-Danda-Mandita-Kara, Ya Shveta-Padmasana॥
Ya Brahmachyuta-Shankara-Prabhritibhirdevaih Sada Vandita,
Sa Mam Patu Saraswati Bhagawati Nihshesha-Jadyapaha॥
After meditation, join your hands and fold your thumbs inwards and invoke the deity with this dhyanam mantra-
Hari Om। Sahastrashirsha Purusha Sahastrakshah Sahastrapat।
Sa Bhumim Savvetaspprttvattyatishtha Ddashangulam॥
Agachchha Saraswatidevi Sthane Chatra Sthirobhava।
Yavatpujam Karishyami Tavattvam Sannidhau Bhava॥
Om Bhagawati Shri Saraswatyai Avahayami Sthapayami॥
Take flowers in both hands and offer them to Mata Saraswati. Chant below mantra during the procedure-
Ramyam Sushobhana Divyam Sarva Saukhyakaram Shubham।
Asanam Cha Mayadattam Grihana Parameshwari॥
Om Idasanam Samarpayami Bhagawati Shri Saraswatyai Namah॥
Wash Her feet, and offer water water for abhishekam.
After that, offer water for Achamana by chanting this mantra-
Sarvatirtha Samayuktam Sugandhi Nirmalam Jalam।
Achamyatam Mayadattam Grihana Parameshwari॥
Om Mukhe Achamaniyam Samarpayami Bhagawati Shri Saraswatyai Namah॥
Once the Achamaniya is done, offer water for snanam by chanting the following mantra-
Ganga Saraswati Revapayoshni Narmada Jalaih।
Snapitoasi Maya Devi Tatha Shanti Kurushva Me॥
Om Snanartha Jalam Samarpayami Bhagawati Shri Saraswatyai Namah॥
Follow the next procedure of Panchamrita Snana. Chant the mantra-
Payo Dadhi Ghritam Chaiva Madhu Cha Sharkarayutam।
Panchamritam Mayanitam Snanartham Pratigrihyatam॥
Om Panchamritena Snapayami
Bhagawati Shri Saraswatyai Namah॥
After that follow the Shuddhodaka Snana ritual with pure water. Chant the below mantra-
Jnanamurte Bhadrakali Divyamurte Sureshwari।
Shuddha Snanam Grihanedam Narayani Namoastu Te॥
Om Panchamritena Pashchachchhuddhodakena Snapayami
Bhagawati Shri Saraswatyai Namah॥
Once that ritual is finished, proceed for gandha snanam. Offer scent bath to Maa Saraswati and offer the final Shuddhodaka bath and then offer vastra.
After that offer Chandan, Haldi, Kumkum, Sindoor, Jewellery, and Flowers. Once this ritual is finished, proceed with Dhoopam and Deepam.
The next step is for offering the Naivedya. After that offer the Achamaniyam to the Goddess. Then provide betel nuts and paan. Offer Dakshina and perform Aarti of Mata Saraswati. After that perform the Pradakshina (circumambulating from left to right) with flowers. Now, sprinkle water with the help of flowers and conclude the pooja process.
