The Story of Ganesha's birth
The Exquisite Ganesha Idols Lord Ganesha is the son of the God Shiva and Goddess Parvati. He removes obstacles and boosts auspiciousness in every endeavor of devotees. He brings good fortune, and blessings and ensures lucky new beginnings in life.
The story of his birth is that Goddess Parvati was longing for affection while Mahakaal Shiva was meditating on Mount Kailash. Hence, she concocted a son in flesh and blood from clay.
One day Goddess Parvati had gone to bathe and told her young son Ganesha to stand guard. Infuriated by this, Lord Shiva slew the head off the shoulders of his young son and went on to look for his wife, after having realized his misdoing, he went on to search for the first being he would bump into, an elephant and put his head on his son and christened him "Ganesha'. Lord Shiva then declared that his young son would be known as the remover of obstacles and would be the first to be worshipped in any ritual. Lord Ganesha is also decreed as the patron saint of the arts.
